Ominous Wedding Bells

Photography is always about lighting and a lot of the time, the sun is the best light source. This is very true when shooting wedding portraits. Unfortunately living in the Seattle Washington area, the sun can be difficult to find many times. The one resource we do have plenty of is clouds. So what do you do when you have a bunch of lemons?
Going into this wedding and location, I already had an idea of the type of portrait I wanted to get. Using one Canon 580 EXII flash at full power, I tried to bring down the ambient light as much as possible (faster shutter speed) while maintaining as much of the flash power (wider aperture). After quickly posing and calibrating my light/camera settings, the rain began to fall. No worries. Mom has an umbrella!
